Caligula: The Ultimate Cut

Caligula: The Ultimate Cut

Movie Info:

Caligula: The Ultimate Cut is a restoration and remake of the infamous film Caligula of 1979 whose plot is totally amazing. The film is about the life and times of the fifth Roman Emperor, Caligula. The caligula movie par ecxternal depicts more the politics and morals of the Roman empire without much of the graphic violence. It has been aswel despised as appreciated because of its graphic content.

Cast:

Malcolm Mcdowell – Caligula

Helen Mirren- Caesonia

Peter O Toole- Tiberius

Teresa Ann Savoy- Drusilla

Positive Aspects:

Historical Drama: The film is a historical drama that explores all the vices and political intrigues associated with the Pagans and their Kingdom of Rome, hence suitable for any serious history lover.

Improved Storytelling: The focus on politics of the film version is reasonably understandable for viewers…….In this sense emphasis on the political blocking of Caligula revenge upon the people of Rome.

Iconic Performances: The last fews years have changed little of British actor, Malcolm McDowell, who played the part of the insane emperor Caligula in the eponymous film and now looks no less terrifying. Her performance however was in a supporting role but still carries weight, Helen Mirren.

Negative Aspects:

Still Controversial: It still doesn’t change the fact that it is a dark film and no matter the cuts, it is still violent and may not impress all viewers.

Graphic Content: Naturally while watching the entire movie the graphic content is salient but with the cuts made, some might find the valued pieces in this contention too nauseating.
