Movie Info:

The camera centers on a reclusive photographer who realizes that there is more to the camera than just being an ordinary tool. After developing a number of strange photographs that seem to foresee terrible disasters, he has to return the cameras’ artwork before it consumes him. The film examines the themes related to mania, predestination, and the cost of the ascent to the creative glory.

Positive Aspects:

An exciting psychological thriller featuring a gripping tension that fully build up to the audience’s intrigue.

Jake Gyllenhaal gives a very solid lead performance of a troubled man pushed into a corner of paranoia and fear.

Very interesting cinematography, focusing on visual storytelling which adds to the mood of the horror.

Negative Aspects:

This is a film dependent on the sequence of events, hence it can be somewhat baffling to follow and some of the twists appear to be unnecessary at times.

Unfortunately, the film may not appeal to a certain category of viewers, as the development does tend to be rather slow.
