Mindy, a spunky 12-year-old with a braid as fiery as her personality, spends her summer days exploring the foothills of Catclaws Mountain with her gruff but loving grandma, Etta. One day, Etta gifts Mindy a peculiar pony named Angel. Unlike any ordinary horse, Angel can talk – and according to local legend, holds the key to unlocking the mountain’s hidden treasure.
Mindy, initially skeptical, is swept into a whirlwind adventure when Angel reveals he’s the magical pony spoken of in the legend. Together, they embark on a quest to decipher cryptic clues and navigate treacherous terrains. Along the way, they encounter a bumbling treasure hunter named Eddie Buck, whose charm and enthusiasm (though often misplaced) endear him to Mindy.
Their journey is fraught with danger. A grumpy mountain troll guards a vital passage, and a band of greedy prospectors led by the ruthless Silas Thorn are hot on their trail, seeking the treasure for themselves. Mindy must tap into her courage and resourcefulness, with Angel by her side and Eddie’s (sometimes accidental) help, to overcome the obstacles and protect the true purpose of the treasure.
