Augustine (George Clooney), a scientist in the Arctic, races to stop Sully (Felicity Jones) and her crew of astronauts from returning to a devastated Earth. As he grapples with his own past regrets and failing health, he must find a way to communicate with them and warn them of the danger that awaits.
